this is the cherokee purple heirloom.  i can't wait to give it a try.  now...to find the perfect recipe to use it with.

Apples a la Mode

i love how we get to share with others in our community via our apple trees.

Garden Update

a lot of things are doing great in our garden!

 i'm very excited about our sweet peppers. they are so good....and they really are sweet!  don't you agree that it's a beautiful thing?!

 


the little heads of red cabbage are so cute!


 


this isn't the best picture of our eggplant, but it was in an awkward position to shoot. i'll be honest and say i'm surprised of their shape. they look like purple peppers to me. i expected them to be plumper.


 


i'm super excited about our heirloom tomatoes. i must confess....i actually don't care for tomatoes, but i've read and heard that heirloom tomatoes are a completely different tomato experience. i do love how funky heirlooms can look. one is a cherokee purple and one is a mr. stripy. they should add lots of fun to the garden.

 



i also must give LOTS of credit to kent for caring for our gardens. if it weren't for him they wouldn't receive the tlc that they do. he makes sure they receive lots of love, attention and water. when we get home in the afternoons, the first thing that we do is visit the garden to see how things have changed. it's always surprising to see the difference from one day to the next.

Fantastic Family

i wanted to share more from this session. i loved how the rest of the family came together for a photo opportunity and arrived ready for fun and casual!

Celebrating 50 Years

celebrating 50 years of marriage. such a beautiful thing!


 

Baby Bird

a sweet baby bird in our back yard. the momma bird was watching closely and very protective. such tiny little birds.

 if you are concerned as to whether or not kent touched the little bird...he did not. i'm not sure if it's an old wives tale or not that touching baby birds is bad, but we weren't taking any chances.


 

Happy Father's Day

in honor of father's day, i'm sharing some of my favorite father pictures along with a few pictures of the special dad in our house.

 wishing all dad's a wonderful day. i'm thankful for a wonderful husband that is also a great father.

What?          Summertime Mid-Day Mini Sessions      (20 - 30 minutes)

 When?        Mondays through Fridays    (June and July)

 Where?       Lost River Cave**

 1 or 2 subjects*.   Great for kids!

Maybe a 'Mommy and Me' or 'Daddy and Me' day.  A great way to update desktop or tabletop photos or photos for the grandparents and the rest of the family.   Great for close ups and headshots.  Maybe even a picnic!

For  June 11 - 15  there will be a 25% introductory discount. Session fee includes a disc of digital files.
