Field Day

we headed out to the farm today to take care of some stuff and while wondering out in the fields i got a few shots.

i'm not sure what type of bug this is?? i wish it would have been a more attractive flower....but I'll take what I can get. :0) this is a tightly cropped image....so quality is not quite what i would like. it would have been nice to have that macro lens! :0)

My Patio

when the weather warms up we enjoy our patio very much. i made my annual trip to the garden patch....the most fabulous place to get annuals and perennials. i usually make two or three trip during the spring and early summer to get everything i need. love them!!! i had to get my fern to put on my patio.

Photobucket

i always make a mixed pot myself....so here is the first and maybe only one this year.

Photobucket

the patio furniture is currently undergoing a new face lift....i'll share the end results once it's finished. it's amazing what a few cans of paint can do. (memaw if your reading this i know you are grinning right now....inside joke!)

paige had a friend over so i put them to work over the weekend giving one of our birdhouses a face lift as well.

i love to add a little touch of "country" to my patio setting and i think my old worn bench that came with the house works well.

while we were at the garden patch paige picked these out.

Photobucket

i have no clue what they are called but to me they look like an old fashion flower. they are very cute and already blooming!

Happy Wednesday!!!!

Tom

we are so happy to have our cat, tom, with us now at our new home.

tom spent the last year living with kent's mom and dad since he was such a country cat we really didn't know how he would adjust to living in the city. he has surprised us by adjusting very well and making the adjustment so quickly. he has made new friends here and seems to enjoy it. he's very loving.......and especially loves belly rubs.

Testing the Reusable Bags

ok....this morning i put the new reusable target bags to the test. i now have the two styles below. one zips and one snaps shut. the zipper bag is the smaller bag and the more convenient one to put in your purse for picking up a few things here and there. i'm keeping two in my purse.

Photobucket

this morning i used my bags everywhere i went....and it was great! one place, when i told them i had my own bag, the cashier's face lit up and she told me that a lot of people are coming in with their own bags. They were very excited about it.

once you empty your bags they are so easy to fold back up and re-zip or snap close. the small one was .99 and the large one was $1.49.

i highly recommend getting your own and giving it a try. i'm sure there are other places selling these...but so far target is the only place i'm familiar with.

Great Deal

i left target (AGAIN!) with a huge smile on my face and a little extra pep to my step because I left with.......a great deal!

$2.50............i said $2.50

Photobucket

i've been eyeing these purses at target for a while now. they were only 9.99 .... but i wasn't sure it would be functional for me once i got it and put it to use. BUT for $2.50....who cares?! LOVE IT!

AND.....now for $7.00........

Photobucket

a very cool black leather work tote. I also had been eyeing the large purses/totes because they are "in" right now....but wouldn't dish out the dough...again...because i wasn't sure how much use it would get. BUT for $7.00 .... i couldn't pass it up! LOVE IT!

i went to target specifically to get the reusable fold up bags for groceries and shopping and found them for $1.49. this is one of my efforts of going green and helping out the environment. we'll see how it goes. i'm excited to give it a try. the fold up style i got is soooo easy to use. it folds right back up into place with very little effort. i don't have a picture right now but as soon as i do i'll be sure to share as well......obviously i'm more excited about my DEALS than my new environment friendly purchase....hehe....ok i need to adjust my priorities! actually these are located at this time in my car so they'll be readily available the next time i go shopping.

have a great weekend!!!!

Flower Arrangements

a friend and coworker put together some flower arrangements that turned out very cool. she asked if i would get a few shots for her.

these were taken very quickly and very snap shot style. i didn't have time on my side.....and of course office lighting is not the most flattering....but none-the-less i was pleased with my shots.

i took this as an opportunity to play around some and be dramatic on some of the images.

oh, and by the way, a couple of the arrangements were very unique. the base is a gas cylinder! (there is a reason for this and a theme involved.)

Mammoth Cave

our sunday afternoon was spent walking the nature trails in mammoth cave. we invited one of paige's friends and her mom and we had a great time.

i of course went with camera in tow but due to harsh shadows and light i really didn't get a lot of great shots. this is when a nice macro lens is handy to really enjoy some detail shots instead. (i love macro.)

Out and About Today

paige and i headed to the lake today to stick our toes in the water and to see if we could find some new and interesting places to get some shots. we had many stops along the way and during one stop ran across these folks......

Photobucket

just happened to be that two of the guys i'd taken a photography course with (one of the guys didn't make it into the shot). paige and i hopped out and hung out for a bit and got some neat nature shots.
