Happy Halloween

600 ghouls and 30 bags of candy later ........ halloween is over.

this year was different for us. we spent the whole evening handing out candy rather than roaming the streets with our little girl in tow. i have to honestly admit i wish paige was 5 years old again dressed up in her costume roaming the neighborhoods. we have always enjoyed halloween as a family. this evening was simply a frenzy of making sure each visitor had a piece of candy in his or her bag (actually more like two or three).....not really being able to look and see what types of visitors we received. all in all ..... it was fun .... and i look forward to next year.

Fall Treats !!!!

i love pumpkin pie.....below are some pumpkin pie gems we made. mmmmm....they are good! before you think i'm betty crocker....the ingredients came out of a box. all we had to add was milk, egg and butter. these are made with eagle brand sweetened condensed milk....love that stuff.

Ghouls and Goblins

we are sooo excited this year about halloween! we are now in a neighborhood that sees lots of ghouls and goblin action. i have purchased over 20 bags of candy!! i can't believe how much we have. i pulled it all out and started to fill the bowl and to think i ever questioned if we have enough??!! we wanted to make sure we didn't have to close our door and turn out the light half way through the evening. also...i purchased mostly chocolate...mmmm....juuust in case we have some candy left over then we'll have plenty of candy we like to eat....but it's very dangerous for this much chocolate to be in our house!!!

Friends

friends make everything better.......

when paige has her friends over we always take time to get out and have a photo shoot. the girls usually love this and we always have lots of fun! it's a great opportunity for me to get some practice time behind the camera.....while creating wonderful memories for my daughter and her friends and their families.

hare scramble events are something our family enjoys. if we aren't participating we are there supporting friends. over the weekend, we enjoyed a race in Crofton, KY which was part of the Mid South Series.

Jackson's Orchard 2007

last minute we decided to make today the day for our annual visit to Jackson's Orchard. this is THE spot to visit every fall.....the best apple cider....hot apple pies.....and lots of other goodies! during the fall there's lots of activities to do while visiting such as a petting zoo.....pony rides....face painting.....sand art.....hay castle....and much more.

Model Student

my first announcement is that we have a MODEL STUDENT!!!! yay!!!! we have the best little girl in the world and it shows at school too. we had our annual parent - teacher conference last night and paige's teacher had nothing but good to say. we are having a WONDERFUL school year and i always want to give thanks to the teacher for taking part in making it a wonderful year.

Woman's Club

i just might join the community woman's club! i have to admit i really didn't know a whole lot about this club other than they do good things for the community. i attended a meeting last night and had a good time! it was nice to meet new people in the community and to see some familiar faces. dinner was fabulous and so quaint! maybe i can put my love of photography to work for them!!!! we'll see!

it was time for some updated pictures. water + my daughter usually = an oppurtunity to get some good natural shots. it was cute to watch her in her dress (and pearls) ending up waist deep in the lake!! she just couldn't resist it.....i was laughing so hard by the time we finished up. i was ready to jump in myself!!

this was the start of our conversation. i do love abstract photography and i love creating it. also i love candid / lifestyle portrait photography....something i hope to pursue part-time someday for children and families. for now, i'll share what i do along the way as a hobby. For years i wanted this approach with my daughter's pictures each year when we looked for a place to have pictures taken. i finally invested in a camera so that i could take it upon myself to create what i've wanted for years and in this process found something i LOVE! I just hope someday i can provide to those seeking the same pictures as i did for many years.

Has It Really Been THAT Long ?!!

last night i attended my high school reunion. it was great to see everyone again!

some people looked exactly the same.....some were a challenge to put a name with a face.

it was so much fun to see what everyone is doing now........teachers, doctor, surgeon, therapists, military, actor, social work....just to name a few. wow!!

i love fall! to make it even better we have a WONDERFUL local place to get pumpkins...mums...pretty much anything you can think of! this fab place is The Garden Patch. i stole one of their great ideas....stacking pumpkins.
