The Johns Family
i can say with confidence now that i love doing maternity session.
the johns family is expecting their first child and it's an honor to document this very special time in their lives. they have chosen to wait to find out whether they are having a boy or a girl and i think that's so much fun!

A Great Look
you may have noticed i'm throwing in a new post processing look that gives pictures a vintage feel. i'm enjoying this new look very much so you'll definitely be seeing more if it and i'm getting great feedback with it too.
the camera i shoot with, the canon 5d, produces amazing and vibrant color. i try to use that to it's fullest advantage but every now and then i like to try something new to keep things fresh.

The Paint'n Place
if you are looking for something fun to do The Paint'n Place is a place you must check out.
it's a great place for kids and adults. a unique place for your child's birthday party, a girls night out or just an afternoon hanging out spending quality time.
last week, during fall break, paige and i met up with some friends and spent a couple of hours at the paint'n place. i painted a dip bowl while paige painted a nemo penny bank. the last time we were at the paint'n place i thought 'how nice it would be to hang out here while it's raining and just paint for hours' and that's exactly what happened while we were there. soon after arriving a small storm came through and the rain settled in. we painted for a couple of hours listening to the rain drops and a pound of thunder here and there (i love storms). it was wonderful!! there were a few other families there just like us spending quality time together.

August Rush
ok....once again i've watched a movie that has been out for a while. it on HBO right now and i can't say i remember the previews for this one but its a MUST SEE.

Fall Project
a tornado of orange leaves going by is a good sign that fall is here.
i LOVE fall. i couldn't have said that when i was younger....but as i get older i fall more and more in love with this time of year. now, i don't care much for everything dying and the coldness moving in....but the colors are beautiful and as long as it's just cool outside i'm ok with it. after the full heat of summer the coolness that follows is usually very welcoming.
during our shopping adventure yesterday, we found ourselves in hobby lobby. a trip to hobby lobby either makes me 1) want to decorate or 2) make something! well...the need to make something took over as i looked at all of the wonderful fall decorations...in particular the garlands and wreaths. i found two BEAUTIFUL wreaths BUT one was 200.00 and the other was 160.00. they were half off but still i didn't want to give 80.00 for a wreath (even though i know stuff like that is usually not cheap). soooo.....after another trip around the store looking for stuff to make my own wreath....40.00 later i have this:

Taylor and Brett
taylor and brett are happy and gorgeous newlyweds. they just had a beautiful wedding on sept. 20th. they wanted to schedule a session to get some pictures of the whole family....and i must say they have two VERY cute "children", memphis and hope. memphis and hope are adorable shelties. taking pictures of happy rambunctious doggies can be challenging but it is a lot of fun.
i love the fall colors peeking through right now!!!
