Showcase Session - Contest

I'm excited to announce my FIRST CONTEST!!!!!

Periodically, I'm going to host this contest, and it will be called

Showcase Sessions.

The winner will win a one hour on location session (bowling green or smiths grove) with yours truly and a disc with 10 ready to print images from your session.

This is open to sessions for families, babies, children, couples.....pretty much

any portrait session goes.

How do you win?

Each contest will be a little different and if there's one particular contest that was more enjoyable than the rest we might do it again!

I wanted to kick off the first contest having FUN.....so if you want to compete you'll need to either leave a comment on this post or send me an e-mail with your.....

Best Joke!

Whoever has the best joke that sends our judges rolling in the floor with laughter....will win!!! (and please keep them CLEAN!)

now, if you e-mail your joke to me be prepared for it to possibly show up on the blog.

This contest is going to run for 30 days....so get your jokes in and tell all of your friends and family about it too! When the end draws near (March 2nd) I'll be sure to post a warning on the blog.

OH, and yes, you may submit more than one entry.

since i know by now you all love megan just as much as i do....i wanted to share one more. i sort of over looked this shot...what was i thinking?! i've been using a vintage tone on most of the shots (that i love) but i just love the bright colors of this one so i kicked it up a notch. doesn't it bring out her eyes?!! cheree found this object as a backdrop and it worked out beautifully.

Mama Helen Hometown Kitchen

smiths grove has a new restaurant in town, and i had the privilege of documenting the open house. the name of the restaurant is mama helen hometown kitchen cafe and bakery. it's DELICIOUS! if you are anywhere near smiths grove be sure to stop by and have a bite to eat. it's worth a road trip just to have lunch or dinner. the family that runs the restaurant is not only known for their great food but also for their desserts.

Sneak Peek......

from today.

It's A Girl!

the johns family welcomed into the world their precious little girl....and here is a sneak peak.

the connection this family has can clearly be seen through photography. i just love that! you might remember their maternity session. once again, it's an honor to do such a session and then have the opportunity to photograph the sweet baby boy or girl.

there are soooo many pictures i'm in love with from this session. i used a new lens where i was able to take a closer approach during the session and i'm very pleased with how it turned out.

Did that just happen?

there is no way this will ever happen again......

just moments ago i filled a small glass with ice water, sat the glass on the counter and turn to walk away and as soon as i turned i heard a POW!!! i cringed at the thought of what i was about to see...broken glass everywhere......but instead i find this........





....WOW. definitely worth taking a picture and blogging ASAP! haha

Ava is 6 months old!

how time flies! today i had the privilege of taking ava's 6 month pictures. HERE is ava at 4 weeks. HERE is ava at 3 months.

i can't believe she is now 6 months!

she is such a DOLL!!!!
