Student Art Contest

this afternoon i had the opportunity to participate as one of the judges for the local district student art contest held by the Kentucky Federation of Women's Club (KFWC). i have to say i was a little bit nervous because i've never judged an art contest before. the competition was steep and judging was difficult! we have very talented artists in our schools! it's truly a shame that art is falling to the wayside in some of our school systems....and that reality is hitting very close to home.

it was nice to see the students and their family attend. these talented students made if very evident that they value their work and the arts in general....a great thing to see.

Megan would have enjoyed this. I really should have taken her to see the artists' works. She sold one of her drawings this afternoon. I bet you had a difficult time picking favorites!

that is wonderful that she sold a piece! i would love to see more of her work. the piece she showed me in ric's office was very nice!
