Student Art Contest

this afternoon i had the opportunity to participate as one of the judges for the local district student art contest held by the Kentucky Federation of Women's Club (KFWC). i have to say i was a little bit nervous because i've never judged an art contest before. the competition was steep and judging was difficult! we have very talented artists in our schools! it's truly a shame that art is falling to the wayside in some of our school systems....and that reality is hitting very close to home.

it was nice to see the students and their family attend. these talented students made if very evident that they value their work and the arts in general....a great thing to see.

Good For A Rainy Day......

it seems the last time we put a puzzle together we got down to the last piece and ......... there was no last piece to be found!

it's been a while since then but last week i picked up a 750 piece puzzle for some quality family time. something good for a rainy day like today. :0)

i'm just hoping it can hold our attention long enough to complete. :0)

Feeling Artsy

here is another shot from our sunday afternoon shoot. i really liked this shot but felt like i needed to tweak it a little bit to get the look i was feeling. so here it is.....i feel this represents what i was wanting. i know melissa is basically cut in half but i like the 'artsy' feel it has.

Sunday Afternoon....and Happy Valentines Day!

sunday afternoon we headed out to have some fun, enjoy the warm weather, and shoot shoot shoot. taylor alder and cheree federico came with camera in hand. taylor's husband brett and sister melissa were our brave models for the day.


while the sun was available i tried to have fun with flaring it up.

boy, have the computer gods not been on my side this week!

thankfully all is well now. i'm back up and running!!! it feels good.

it's amazing how crippled we become without these silly computers. :0)

Beautiful Day

what a beautiful day!!! why can't the next couple of WEEKS be just like today?!

a perrrrfect day for tree climbing...as you can see below.

kent and i spend most of the day cleaning up limbs from this tree that found their way to the ground from all of the ice. our neighbors were so kind to help us relocate all of the debris. :0) great neighbors are the best!!!
















miss bugle is due for a blog showing. :0) (bugle seems to give me that 'get the camera out of my face look' too often....haha)
